I Just Wanna Run

For ~Pure-Escapism's contest challenge thingy, like AvA (Artist vs. Artist)

I decided to pixel my entry, for a change of pace (that, and I want to challenge myself to make something differently styled for each entry of this contest!)

I drew my character Nightwalker (which I've only drawn one picture of before, so you might not remember him), and with a new updated design. Plans I had for his world and personality finally became a bit more solid with this drawing..

Essentially, here is is story:

Nightwalker was a dream-snatcher that hunted down people and other creatures to steal their dreams, replacing them with nightmares. You see, pure dreams are worth a lot in his world, they can be shaped into anything imaginable, and become tangible and real.

He was a part of an organisation that stole and used them for personal gain, and to instill fear in others. However, he changed his ways after having his own first dream.... and experiencing it taken right from him. He relented from dream-snatching and escaped from the organisation. He now works against his once-allies to steal back the pure dreams, and return them to whom they belong to.

All whilst trying to find the remnants of his own dream, which seems to be lost forever..

But his revolting comes with a price- he now lives in an endless nightmare of being hunted down by the organisation's dream-snatchers. I felt that the song "I Just Wanna Run" might describe some feelings he has, and so I just drew whatever came to mind as I listened to the song.
